What's Happening

Petronas in Pictures

When we arrived in Kuala Lumpur, I immediately started to compare it to the city we had just left.  Bangkok is a hugely vibrant city, with a type of chaos that just works.  Kuala Lumpur seemed same same, but different. Once I started looking around, I said to myself,”hey where are the tuk tuks, the elephants, the lady boys, the street food on every corner?”  I then realized it was not same same but different, but just plain old different.  Kuala Lumpur seemed to be a little sleepy to me after Bangkok.

Petronas Towers

But it is vibrant nonetheless, with huge modern shopping malls on every corner it seems, a transport system of spotless subways, MRTs, and monorails, and a beautiful skyline.  Of course the buildings that dominate the skyline are the Petronas Towers. You truly can see them from just about anywhere.  They are beautiful buildings really, and guess what is connected to them?  A very modern mall.

Looking up

Petronas Atrium

At night though the towers took on a whole new look.  As we stood and looked up at these marvels of engineering there were no words to describe.  So I won’t bother to, you can have a look for yourself.
