Rock Star Christmas

Dec 25th, 2008 by WanderingSean | 1

Nearly 425 days on the road.  We do wish we were home for Christmas this year.  Christmas is probably our favorite holiday although we do not consider ourselves “religious” types.  The one time of year when we are guaranteed time with friends and family.  Of course eating, drinking, and presents for me are also a plus.

Not being home this year we decided to go for a bit of a splurge.  We were riding around town on a motorbike when WD suggested a detour into this place. We were considering getting a nice room for Christmas anyway but this place went far beyond anything we were looking for.  A comfy bed, hot water, wi-fi, and maybe even A/C would be pure luxury.

Instead we stepped inside a private walled compound.  Each villa has a private pool, huge outside pavilion surrounded by gardens and a little fish moat (thankfully these are not the feet eating kind), kitchen, outdoor shower… I could go on.

Care For A Dip?

After traveling so long I’m sure my own home would feel like a million bucks.  Now picture sleeping in places that are a step above camping out for the last year and then walking into this place.  I could feel WD bristling next to me and knew we were done for–sold.

We still wish we were home (just for the holidays) but being here definitely takes some of the sting out of it.  Gotta run for now, the cook has arrived to make us breakfast.

Merry, Merry Christmas!

I wish you were here too so that more secrets could be told at one of your parties. :-) I miss you both and wish you a joyous, decadent Christmas. Your hotel sounds magnificent and I’m sure you are enjoying every ounce of it.

    Love and hugs,
    Josette
